Two of the best athletes of the 21st century crossed paths on Friday.
With the Los Angeles Lakers and LeBron James in Washington to take on the Wizards, Alex Ovechkin decided to use his night off to take in some hoops.
The Capitals' star sat courtside as James and the Lakers crushed the Wizards 142-111.
James made a point to give Ovehkin a quick handshake during the game, then the two superstars met up afterwards to swap autographed jerseys.
It was a fitting exchange for two supertstars who are second to none in their respective sports.
Ovechkin, of course, is the NHL's all-time leading goal scorer with 919 and counting. While James, who added another 20 in Friday's win, is the NBA's all-time leading scorer with an astounding 42,841 points.
Both now in their 40s, neither James nor Ovechkin has committed to playing past this season.
Which makes it all the more special that the two legends were able to share a moment on Friday night.
